Hamilton, NY — – How do societies deal with the impulse for revenge’ How can individuals and communities best be helped to cope with the aftermath of national trauma’ Andrew Rigby, director of the Centre for the Study of Forgiveness and Reconciliation at Coventry University, will examine these questions in a lecture titled ‘Justice and Reconciliation: After the Violence’ on Tuesday, November 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Love Auditorium, Olin Hall, at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University.
Rigby, who has taught at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ, is the author of Justice and Reconciliation: After the Violence, The Legacy of the Past: The Problem of Collaborators and the Palestinian Case, Palestinian Education: The Future Challenge, Living the Intifada, and other books. His lecture is sponsored by ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ’s departments of peace studies, sociology and anthropology, the Division of University Studies, the Center for Ethics and World Societies, and the offices of the dean and the president.
