Engineer, designer, and entrepreneur David Kelley will visit ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ as the University’s second Clifford Family Innovator in Residence, April 8–10, 2025

²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ will host Francesca Zambello ’78 as the inaugural Clifford Innovator in Residence in February 2025. Zambello is the artistic director of the Washington National Opera.

n on Thursday, Aug. 29. The ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Shuttle will operate under the direction of the new transportation department director, Colin Idzi, a former transportation coordinator and campus safety officer at Hamilton College.

Protestant Campus Minister Corey MacPherson has been named University chaplain for a three-year term beginning July 1. 

As part of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ’s continuous effort to steward the campus and maintain the University’s distinctive landscape, several willow trees will be removed from Willow Path the week of Jan. 15.

Guacamole dusted with crispy, crushed black ants. Nachos covered in cricket cheese sauce. Brownies flavored with mealworm powder. These were just a few of the entomological delicacies enjoyed by ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ students, faculty, and staff during a recent visit by Chef Joseph Yoon, the self-proclaimed edible insect ambassador and founder of Brooklyn Bugs.

With the receipt of a $20 million gift toward the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Commitment from John K. Hoyns ’76, ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University has raised more than half of the $1 billion goal set for the Campaign for the Third Century. 

This year, ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ’s annual MLK Celebration will run from Jan. 23 through Jan. 29, 2023. The opening ceremony, featuring student speaker Kwabena Owusu Ansah ’24 and performances by the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Resolutions and Safety Forth, will be held at 4:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23, in Memorial Chapel and will stream live.

This summer, OUS students, faculty, and directors visited Washington, D.C., to learn outside of the classroom and build connections with the Alumni of Color organization.

More than 110 aspiring and published authors — alumni, parents, students, employees, local residents, and visitors from across the country — were on campus in June for the 27th annual ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Writers Conference. The event was spearheaded by Associate Professor of English Jennifer Brice, with assistance from four undergraduate Creative Fellows.
